Full Moons in General

Full moons coincide with the culmination of the past six months' efforts. They involve tension between what is felt physically or emotionally and what is known or seen.

The sign in which a particular full moon occurs corresponds to a different life area (or "house") for each person depending on one's rising sign. Use the Topics by Rising Sign section at the end of this article to identify which area of your life will be coming to fruition at the time of this full moon.

If you had set intentions six months ago during the new moon in the same sign, use this full moon to take stock of how those plans have worked out. Whether you'd set intentions or not, think about which approaches have served you, and which need to go in order for you to reach your goal. Then plan to drop whatever has proven to hinder your progress over the next six months. Focus on proven, functional approaches.

This Full Moon's Chart Features

  • Moon in Aries’ first decan: This is a culmination of our efforts to support ourselves emotionally and develop independence from others.

  • Aries’ ruler Mars in Libra’s third decan, conjunct the moon’s South Node: This need for self-support is inspired by a passionate desire for fairness and balance, which burns so hot that it is itself imbalanced. We may be inclined to cut something or someone off, burn bridges, and use harsh language.

  • Sun in Libra’s first decan, copresent with Mars: The need for cultivating self-reliance in regards to our feelings arises in opposition to a recent spotlight on efforts to harmonize and create peace with others. What is brought to light may spark outrage or the desire to sever ties.

  • Libra’s ruler Venus in Leo’s third decan, sextile Mars and final 3rd square with Uranus: Our desires for harmony and fairness are fed by an appreciation for authenticity which may ultimately spark unexpected changes in otherwise stable resources, though these are changes that have been in development since late June. The courage to proudly display our unique loveliness also emboldens our will to seek justice and perhaps sever ties with those who oppose our free expression of love and beauty.

TLDR Summary

We feel empowered as individuals and inclined to shine, but that shining casts shadows around us, and we may wish to suddenly cut ties with that darkness to develop our independence and let go of endlessly compromising to suit someone else’s needs so we can be more authentically ourselves.

Recommendations

  1. Review the past six months, specifically regarding emotional self-sufficiency. Think back to what has happening during the Aries new moon back at the end of March 2023, as well as the Aries solar eclipse at the end of April 2023 and how things have been going in this area of your life since then.

  2. Check the Topics by Rising Sign list below and think about the corresponding house topics as well. Consider the actions you've been taking in these areas of life and whether they are helping you achieve your goals.

  3. Keep what's working, discard the rest. Leave behind activities that aren't bringing you closer to your ideal vision for caring for your own emotional well-being in the life areas specified by the rising sign list. Focus your efforts on those approaches that do work.
